Gay-owned · IGLTA member · Welcoming to all
A gay-owned luxury travel agency planning private journeys and small-ship cruises for LGBTQ+ travelers and the people they love.
Why It Is Different
Most luxury travel is sold as though every couple is the same couple. A honeymoon in a country where you would rather not hold hands in the lobby is not a honeymoon. A guide who spends a week calling your husband your friend is a small thing that becomes a large thing by day four.
Elevida is a gay-owned travel agency. When you tell us you are traveling with your husband or your wife, nothing has to be managed around it. The hotel knows before you arrive. The guide knows before you meet. The room has one bed in it because that is what you asked for and nobody made it awkward.
What we sell is judgment: which ship, which hotel, which two weeks of the year, and which places we would quietly steer you away from. You get one advisor from the first message to the day you come home.
The Collection
Athens and the islands by ferry. Late September is the quiet secret: the sea at its warmest, the crowds gone.
No passport, no customs, and Condado is genuinely a gay neighborhood rather than a tolerant one.
Tahiti and Bora Bora by small ship. Certain cabins carry no single supplement, which matters travelling alone.
Tokyo and Kyoto with a private car and guide. Quietly one of the easiest countries to travel as a couple.
Rome, the Amalfi Coast, Sicily. Best with the same guide across several days, who learns what you actually want.
Unpack once, wake somewhere new, and never dine at a table for two in a room full of families.
How We Choose
Not every destination makes our list, and the reason is rarely the one people expect.
We look at how same-sex couples are actually treated on the ground, not at how a tourism board describes itself. That happens at three levels: the country and its laws, the city or region, which can differ enormously from the country around it, and then the specific hotel, ship and guides, where most of a trip is actually lived.
Where a destination does not clear that bar, we tell you directly and privately rather than publishing a list. Some clients travel to those places anyway, with their eyes open and the right arrangements made. That is a conversation, not a policy.
The First Decision
If you want to unpack once and still wake somewhere new, or if dining as a couple in a hotel restaurant every night wears on you. A small ship of two or three hundred is a different thing entirely from a resort of three thousand. See the cruise collection.
If you would rather go deep than wide, or the thing you want is a place rather than a route. Usually better value solo, since a hotel room costs the same for one as for two. See the destination journeys.
Hotels are told what the occasion is, so the room is right when you walk in. Restaurants are booked before you land rather than hoped for. If you have a date attached to it, tell us early. Peak weeks and the best rooms go first.
Affiliation
Elevida is a member of the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association. It is the standard we hold our own suppliers to, and the first thing we check when placing a hotel or a guide anywhere we have not worked before.
Answered
You do not need one, but it changes the conversation. You never have to explain who you are traveling with, and you never have to wonder whether a recommendation was made with you in mind.
On hotels and cruises, generally no. We book through preferred partner programs that add amenities at the same rate you would pay direct. On complex custom land itineraries we charge a planning fee, quoted up front.
We look at how couples are actually treated on the ground, and we weigh the hotel, the guides and the neighborhoods as much as the country. Where a destination does not clear that bar we tell you directly and privately.
No. We are a gay-owned travel agency and that is who most of our clients are, but we plan for anyone. Friends, parents and straight couples travel with us regularly.
Six to twelve months for a cruise. For custom land travel in peak season, twelve months is not too early. We will tell you honestly if a date is too tight to do well.
Tell us the best trip you have taken and roughly when you want to go next. That is enough to begin.
