Emerald Cruises: Yachts and Star-Ships

Two fleets: custom-built yachts carrying 100 to 128 guests into the harbours the large ships cannot enter, and the Star-Ships of Europe’s rivers carrying up to 180. The same idea in both — a small ship, a marina platform at the back, and a fare that already covers most of the day.

The Advisor’s Edge

A Yacht and a River Ship Are Different Trips

Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara carry 100 guests in 50 suites with 76 crew; Emerald Kaia, the newest, carries 128 in 64 suites with 92 crew. On the rivers, the Star-Ships carry up to 180, and Emerald Lumi — the tenth in the fleet — debuts in March 2027 as the first purpose-built for the Seine.

They suit quite different travellers. The yachts are about anchoring off somewhere with the swim platform down; the Star-Ships are about walking off into the middle of a town before breakfast. We will steer you to the right one before anything is priced.

The Yachts

One Hundred Guests, Six Suite Categories

Azzurra and Sakara launched in 2022 and 2023 at 360.9 feet; Kaia followed at 393.7 feet. Across the yachts there are six categories, from the Oceanview Stateroom through Balcony, Deluxe Balcony and Terrace Suite to the Yacht Suite and the Owner’s Suite.

The difference between those categories on a 100-guest yacht is a different holiday rather than a different price, which is why we walk the deck plan with you rather than send a price list.

The Star-Ships

Six Rivers, and a New One for the Seine

The European fleet covers the Danube, the Rhine, the Main and Moselle, the Douro, the Rhône and Saône, and from March 2027 the Seine. Airport transfers, port charges, gratuities and meals are in the fare, with wine, beer and soft drinks at lunch and dinner.

Emerald sits alongside Scenic under the same ownership, so a river conversation often ends up comparing the two. They are pitched at different tiers and we will be straight with you about which is which.

Read Before You Choose

The Emerald Brochure

Our own edition of the brand book, hosted here so you can read it without handing your details to anyone. The ships, the suites and the deck plans, with the dated voyages and fares taken out.

The Elevida Layer

The Layer We Add

Our consortium and preferred partner amenities are layered on top of the fare and confirmed to you in writing before anything is held. Emerald prices solo travel departure by departure — some sailings waive the single supplement outright and others do not — so it is worth asking before you settle on your dates.
