11 Nights · Porto, the Douro Valley & Lisbon.
✦ Plus an optional 2 nights at Vermelho, Louboutin's hotel in Melides
City, River & Capital
Three sides of Portugal, south down the country with no backtracking. You begin in Porto, above the river in Gaia, with the port lodges and the old city across the water. Then up into the Douro Valley, the oldest demarcated wine region in the world, terraced vineyards falling to the river. And finally Lisbon, the capital on its seven hills, with Sintra a day trip away. Eleven nights, every private transfer handled, including a scenic drive south through Coimbra and Obidos. Gay-owned, and welcoming to all.

Where the journey begins, above the river in Vila Nova de Gaia. The port lodges are at your feet, the tiled old city is across the water, and The Yeatman looks out over all of it. Tastings, food, and a sunset on the Douro.

An hour and a half upriver, into the terraced vineyards that gave port its name. Three nights at Six Senses, a solar boat on the river from Pinhao, and the quiet of the valley. The oldest demarcated wine region on earth.

South to the capital on its seven hills, the trams, the tiled facades, the Tagus below. Sintra and its palaces sit a short drive away, and the Alfama fills with fado at night. The finish, before the flight home.

Christian Louboutin's hotel on the Alentejo coast, a Relais & Châteaux of thirteen rooms, an hour and a half south of Lisbon. A design-led finish to the journey.

Good to Know
The warm months are the Douro at its finest: long dry days, the terraced vineyards green to the water, and the harvest filling the quintas in September. High season, and the valley earns it.
For milder days and more room, April, May and October are the shoulder, a passing shower the only trade.
Nonstop flights from several US hubs reach Porto and Lisbon. We fly you into Porto and home from Lisbon, so the trip runs one way south with no backtracking. You will need a valid passport, but no visa for a stay this length.
The airport pickups, the drive up to the Douro, the scenic transfer south through Coimbra and Obidos, and every guide and tasting, all arranged. You arrive to breakfast, amenities, and the details you only know to ask for once you have been.

Elevida is gay-owned. We build the trip we would want for ourselves: the right hotels, the right rooms, every transfer handled, and the kind of details you only know to ask for once you have been. Tell us your dates and we will shape this journey around you.
