When to Sail
Hawaii sails every month: water in the high seventies to low eighties year round, and trade winds that keep even the summer comfortable. There is no wrong time to go.
Whale season: humpbacks fill the channels between Maui, Lanai and Molokai, and the surf is up on the north shores. The islands are busiest over the winter holidays.
The great crossings: transpacific repositionings from the West Coast, and the long runs down to Tahiti and the South Pacific. Sea days, lecture programs, and the gentlest per-night fares of the year.
